The headings above show how each script looks. They are display samples and are checked by a native speaker before they appear on any customer's invitation.
How a new language is handled
You write it
Send your wording in your language, or type it into the publish form. A family elder or friend can check it.
A native reader checks it
Before we quote, we agree who proof-reads. Spelling, honorifics and customs are theirs to confirm.
We check the layout
Joined letters, line breaks and reading direction are checked on small phones.
You approve it
You see the finished invitation first, and every language goes through the same revision rounds as English.
Another language?
Assamese, Konkani, Sindhi, Nepali, Sanskrit and others can be added when a native proof-reader and a suitable font are available. Ask us and we will tell you plainly whether we can do it well.
Questions about languages
Which Indian languages can my invitation be written in?
Tamil and English are fully supported. Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Odia and Urdu are supported on request: the page shows these scripts correctly, including joined letters and right-to-left Urdu. Other languages can be quoted once a native proof-reader is agreed.
Do you translate my invitation?
No. Your wording is written by you or your family, or by a native proof-reader we arrange with you before we quote. We do not publish machine translation as a finished invitation, because a spelling slip on a wedding card is hard to forgive.
Can one invitation use two languages?
Yes. A common choice is English with your family language, so elders and younger relatives both read the same page. Names can be shown in both scripts.
Will the letters display correctly on every phone?
We load a matching font for the script only when your invitation uses it, and we check conjuncts and line breaks for each language before delivery. Phones that are very old may show system fonts instead.
Can I type my wording in my own language when I publish?
Yes. The publish form accepts text in all the supported scripts. You choose the language, then type your names, blessing and story in it.
